My approach in working with individuals in the therapeutic setting is person-centered and strength based. I like to let the individual guide the season and feel empowered to work toward what feels like achievable goals, offering frequent validation and a trusting environment. I value that everyone is at their own unique stage in their ability to take the internal and external steps necessary to both seek treatment, and work towards growth and progress. I am here to support at whatever pace is necessary to do so. When appropriate, I also like to incorporate varied systems that individual encounter, particularly with youths, as there are different levels of both support and influence that can have impact on a person's daily life.
I have a range of experience helping individuals coping with symptoms from Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Self-Injury, Grief/Loss, Life Transitions, ADHD, Autism, and other challenges impacting one's life functioning. Working as a School Social Worker for the last 6 years has also given me knowledge of the Special Education process and school-based interventions to support the needs of youth in the school system.
I enjoy working with youths 10 and up, teens, and young adults.
